Class 5 Photonics produces award-winning ultrafast lasers with an experienced team in ultrafast lasers and EUV & SXR technology for scientific and industrial applications with a worldwide customer base. Your responsibilities

Design, construct, produce, test and install products and customer-specific EUV/SXR sources based on high-harmonic generation (HHG), EUV/SXR beamlines, including optical design, mechanical engineering, vacuum technology, opto-electronic engineering; and advanced measurement techniques, such as coherent diffractive imaging, EUV/SXR spectroscopy or photo-electron spectroscopy

Work with high-power femtosecond lasers from the ultraviolet to mid-infrared spectral range

Develop new components and solutions based on simulations and experimental tests

Work closely with our worldwide customers to discuss new product solutions and services

Support our customers via remote or on-site services

Who we are looking for

You have successfully received a Master’s or PhD degree from an university or technical college in the field of photonics, physics, physical science or chemistry

At least two years of experimental working experience in the field of HHG EUV or SXR technology

Practical experience in HHG, EUV/SXR optical design, mechanical engineering, vacuum technology, opto-electronic engineering

Experience with high-power, ultrashort pulse laser systems

You are skilled in CAD, electrical engineering, programming and data processing

A high level of working autonomy and flexibility and the willingness to take responsibility

Willingness to travel

Your responsibilities

Determining the required goods and generating purchase orders

Creating a forecast for the required goods, based on the the available stock

Initiate purchase orders for required goods and items that have reached the reorder level
Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.

Track the production levels and adjust the goods order levels accordingly

Scheduling and overseeing the supply and the delivery of the goods

Coordinate with maintenance planning, production, stores and supply chain to expedite the delivery and the movement of the parts within the facility

Review the minimum stock levels and have it adjusted based on the forecast and the lead time of the parts

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports pertaining to status of inventory levels

Support our production team with inventory management

Organize shipments of incoming and outgoing goods and coordinate with our carrier companies and customers

Communicate with vendors to report and resolve discrepancies (in English and German)

Who we are looking for

Bachelor degree in economics or technical studies, ideally combined

Ideally 3 years of professional experience in purchasing

Exceptional organization and time management skills combined with a high aptitude for numbers

Strong knowledge of MS Office and particularly strong MS Excel Skills

Excellent communication and administrative skills in English and German

Independent, structured approach to work combined with a high level of detail orientation

Ability to prioritize, organize and plan tasks and exceptional problem-solving skills

We’re seeking a skilled Front-End Software Engineer to create the “cockpit” for our laser control systems. You’ll collaborate with laser engineers to develop intuitive human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and real-time data visualizations, ensuring a seamless user experience for both scientific and engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Develop user-centric interfaces for laser control, focusing on look & feel and ease of use
Visualize scientific data and manage real-time data interaction in dashboards
Document software designs, interfaces, and user guides clearly
Work closely with the laser engineering team to refine functionality and usability
Utilize MQTT architectures; experience with PyQt/PySide, PyQtGraph, or similar frameworks is preferred

Qualifications
